One month in and the first thing to share this week is:
If you’re creatively blocked, self critical or not finishing your creative work then I recommend ‘The Artists Way.’
It’s not all creative flow and brilliant work (yet), in fact speaking personally, there’s plenty of grit, tears and curve balls. But these are met in greater measure by the quiet joy, a new found self-ease and an ability to say out loud without cringing, ego or dying inside that ‘I’m an Artist’, or in my case
‘I’m a Writer, Songwriter and Musician’
I’ve found a renewed awareness of timing, space, colour and contrast. Words for my writing, lyrics and ordinary speech come more quickly and little by little I become more aware of my inner child and her ongoing wants and needs.
Secondly, in other news, my Daughter is expecting. Or as my friend said ‘The child that made you a Mum is making you a Grandma’ and I in turn bagsy being the fun one that paints, bangs drums, plays piano, makes cakes, tells stories and heads off on adventures in brightly coloured wellies. My inner child may soon have a play mate!
Have a wonderful week wherever you are on your journey.
I’d love to hear your successes with your own art. What works for you when you are creatively blocked?
